Spirituality Group: Exploring Meaning and Sacredness
Those with cancer and/or their caregivers will meet for 8 weeks in a small group format we will delve into what gives meaning and richness to our lives, what fosters connection with ourselves, each other and spirit. We will reconnect with what we love and are grateful for - what makes life worth living in light of recognizing that we may be wrestling with grief, loss and the thought of dying. We will use weekly topics as a springboard for bringing sacredness into our daily life. FREE VALET PARKING. Date listed is first day of 8-week series.

Maura Singer Williams Integrative Medicine Educator & Interfaith Minister

Maura Singer Williams is an Integrative Medicine Educator and also has a private healing arts practice. Her classes include: Stress Relief, Meditation, Qigong/Yoga, Healing and Creativity, Healing Dreams, Meaning Centered Spirituality Group. Maura is a preceptor for the chaplain residents in the Clinical Pastoral Education program (CPE) and trains student chaplains in mind/body healing techniques as well as how to use dreamwork and ritual at the bedside. Maura has taught at locations around the Bay Area including Commonweal, Maitri AIDS Hospice, Spirit Rock Meditation Center, UCSF/Mt. Zion Medical Center, Upaya Center for Well-Being, Laguna Honda Hospice and Positive Care Unit. Maura is an artist who has worked in many mediums. She is currently exploring breaking, fusing and slumping glass. She uses visual art, music and movement in her work with individuals and groups. Creativity informs her teaching and guides her in her work with individuals and groups. Through her own ancestral healing journey she co-founded, with Atava Garcia Swiecicki, the Polish Ancestral Healing Project. Maura trained with Rabbi Gershon Winkler at Walking Stick Foundation and provides small and large scale rituals and healings in the shamanic Jewish tradition.
