Two Sutter Health Affiliates Named as Nation’s Top Hospitals
Sutter Health-affiliated Alta Bates Summit Medical Center (Summit campus in Oakland) and California Pacific Medical Center (Pacific campus in San Francisco) have been named to the Leapfrog Group’s 2007 top hospitals list. The two Sutter affiliates are among only four acute care facilities in California to receive this prestigious honor from Leapfrog, the prominent consortium of some of the nation’s largest employers. Sutter Health Medical Groups Among the Best for Quality
Several medical groups affiliated and aligned with Sutter Health have been honored as tops in quality by the independent and highly respected health care leadership group, the Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA). The recognition is part of the IHA’s annual Pay for Performance report card. The Sutter Health affiliated medical groups awarded this honor are: Solano Regional Medical Group of the Sutter Regional Medical Foundation, Camino Medical Group and the Palo Alto Division of Palo Alto Medical Foundation, Sutter Medical Group and Sutter West Medical Group, both part of the Sutter Medical Foundation, and Sutter-aligned Mills-Peninsula Medical Group. Solano Regional Medical Group/Sutter Regional Medical Foundation was also among a select number of physician organizations honored with the first annual Ronald Bangasser, M.D., Memorial Award for Quality Improvement. These awards were given to physician groups that showed the most significant year-over-year improvement on pay-for-performance measures from 2005-2006. (2007)

Progressive Technology to Advance Patient Safety
Sutter Health launched its new advanced eICU® patient-safety system in the San Francisco Bay Area. The remote ICU is currently monitoring patients at CPMC, St. Luke's and Novato Community Hospital.

Among the Nation's Most Integrated Health Care Networks
For the fourth year in a row, Sutter Health ranked among the nation's most integrated health care networks. Sutter Health ranked 8th among the "Top 100" integrated networks identified by Verispan, a Chicago-based research firm.

Promising Research for the Prevention of Diabetes
The American Diabetes Association and the National Institutes of Health have awarded Andreas Stahl, Ph.D., cell biologist of PAMF's Research Institute, two five-year grants for his promising research that may shed light on the cause and prevention of diabetes.

The Gold Standard
Camino Medical Group's HMR Weight Management Program won seven Gold Standard Awards for Excellence. The Gold Standard Award distinguishes CMG's program from among hundreds of clinics using the HMR weight loss system across the country. The awards, granted this spring, are given in a variety of categories, including group attendance, weight loss success rates and weight maintenance success rates.

Mills-Peninsula Health Services was named one of the top eight hospitals in California for quality of cardiac bypass surgery by the California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development in a study of 77 hospitals throughout the state – 2005
