    Project Fit America

As a P.E. teacher, Cheryl Gladwill's top priority is to motivate kids to be healthy and fit, and she's making a difference in many kids' lives thanks to a special partnership with Sutter Health and Project Fit America.
"Project Fit America is a system of fitness equipment and health curriculum training that is made possible in many Northern California schools because of financial support from Sutter Health," says Gladwill. "It's a wonderful partnership between the community, Sutter Health and our schools."

Using a new set of tools, Gladwill educates students about health and fitness through a competitive and fun, interactive curriculum. "Since we've started the program, I've seen students improve their strength more than I've ever seen in 16 years of teaching."

"Community benefit is one of the real hallmarks of Sutter Health," says Jim Gray, chair, Sutter Health Board of Directors. "I'm proud to say that in 2006 our network committed $483 million to community benefit and charity care in Northern California. Community benefit has made a difference, and will continue to make a difference in the lives of many people that we serve."
