Sutter Health Names New Vice President and Treasurer

SACRAMENTO, Calif., February 22, 2006 – Sutter Health, a family of not-for-profit hospitals, physician organizations and other health care service providers in Northern California, announces the appointment of Svend Ryge as vice president and treasurer of Sutter Health.

In his new position, Ryge will oversee corporate and pension investment, operational banking activities and capital financing requirements for Sutter Health and its operating affiliates.

Ryge was previously the regional chief financial officer for Sutter Health's Bay Area Region hospital and medical foundation affiliates. Prior to joining Sutter Health in 2000 as the CFO of Sutter-affiliated Marin General Hospital, he was with Kaiser Permanente in various financial management roles. He earned both a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a master's in finance from the University of California, Berkeley. He will be based in Sutter's regional office in San Francisco.
