Grand Opening of Sutter Express Care Clinics

Sutter Health and Rite Aid Offer Free Health Screenings on Saturday, January 27

SACRAMENTO, Calif. January 22, 2007 – To celebrate the official grand openings of four Sutter Express Care clinics, the Sutter Health network and Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE, PSX:RAD) will offer free cholesterol, blood glucose and blood pressure screenings on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at Sutter Express Care clinics inside four local Rite Aid stores. Free screenings will take place between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the following Sutter Express Care locations:

  • Rite Aid Natomas Store:
2751 Del Paso Road, at Del Paso Road and East Commerce Way
  • Rite Aid Gold River Store:
2111 Gold Centre Lane, at Golden Centre Lane near Gold Express Drive
  • Rite Aid Elk Grove Store:
8368 Elk Grove Florin Road, at Elk Grove Florin Road near Calvine Road
  • Rite Aid Greenhaven Store:
980 Florin Road, corner of Florin Road and Greenhaven Drive
The four Sutter Express Care in-store medical clinics, located conveniently inside Rite Aid stores, allow patients to receive prompt, affordable, quality care for common illness. The Sutter Health network is the first health care system in California to provide this type of in-store health center.

“Our in-store clinics are operating according to plan, providing an affordable, quality service to the community,” said Thomas Atkins, M.D., medical director of Sutter Express Care. “We are optimistic about the initial reception, and we’ll be looking at other opportunities to expand into neighborhoods throughout Northern California.”

The medical clinics are open seven days a week, with extended hours from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. Sutter Express Care offers a variety of specific health care services that typically can be delivered in 20 minutes at an average cost of $59 per visit. These include diagnosis and treatment for many common illnesses such as bronchitis, sinus infections and allergies. Additionally, the medical clinics provide a number of health and wellness screenings and vaccines. Care is available to children over 18 months of age and adults regardless of where they currently receive physician or hospital care. Many health plans are accepted.

Two additional clinics are under construction and are slated to open in the near future in Roseville at 4004 Foothills Blvd. and in Folsom at 526 East Bidwell St.
