Sutter Health Selects Sysmex America to Standardize Hematology
Instrument reliability and laboratory efficiency key factors
SACRAMENTO, Calif., November 18, 2008 - Sysmex America, Inc. today announced a five-year service agreement with Sutter Health, a not-for-profit network of physicians, hospitals and other health care service providers in Northern California, to help the network standardize hematology instruments, reagents, training, services and support within Sutter’s 26 hospitals and nine medical foundations. Sutter said its contract decision was based on Sysmex instrument reliability, ease-of-use, enhanced patient data and pricing.
“Across our Sutter Health network, we’re adapting and improving our services to advance community access to quality care,” said Ronald Workman, MD, Vice President of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine for Sutter Health. “Our decision to partner with Sysmex America for our hematology standardization needs was a methodical one based on value criteria, site visits and financial impact studies, among other considerations. The known reliability of the instruments made Sysmex America a logical choice.”
Professional recommendations from a Sutter Health clinical laboratory work group – consisting of technologists, administrative directors and pathologists – contributed to the network’s decision to choose Sysmex America.
“It is with a great sense of pride that Sysmex America partners with one of the country’s premier integrated health delivery networks Sutter Health,” said John Kershaw, President, Sysmex America, Inc. “As a company, we welcome the opportunity to demonstrate the performance and reliability of our hematology instruments. Our team of professionals also looks forward to providing their world-class support and service as Sutter continues to enhance the health and well-being of the more than 100 communities it serves.”
Sysmex hematology analyzers have been ranked the best in the industry for system performance and reliability for eight consecutive years, according to the annual IMV ServiceTrak™ customer satisfaction survey. Survey respondents included department supervisors, lab managers, technologists and senior technologists chosen at random from hospitals of varying size from across the country.
