Sutter Davis Hospital Named a Best Place to Work in Health Care
DAVIS, Calif. September 10, 2009 - Sutter Davis Hospital was named one of the "100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare" by Modern Healthcare magazine for 2009. It was one of only three hospitals in Northern California to be named to the list; the others are Sutter affiliate Sutter Maternity and Surgery Center in Santa Cruz and another facility in Red Bluff.
This is the second award Sutter Davis Hospital received this year for its excellence in the workplace. In April, it was named a winner of the Sacramento Workplace Excellence Leader (SWEL) Award from the Sacramento Area Human Resource Association.
For the Modern Healthcare recognition, Sutter Davis Hospital participated in a lengthy survey process that included interviews with managers and employees on a variety of topics, including leadership and planning, culture and communications, role satisfaction, working environment, relationship with supervisor, training and development, pay and benefits and overall satisfaction.
"It is refreshing for me, personally, to come to work every day and to be able to work in our environment of collaboration and respect," said Janet Wagner, chief administrative officer at Sutter Davis Hospital. "Our focus at Sutter Davis Hospital is the quality care we provide our patients each and every day, and to be able to do that in an environment where we care about each other is what makes our hospital one of the best places to work in the region and even the nation."
Modern Healthcare will reveal the ranked order of the "100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare" in a special supplement to be published on Oct. 26. This year's recipients also will be honored at a banquet in Chicago on Oct. 27.
