Eureka Award Presented to Sutter Davis Hospital at Statewide Conference
DAVIS, Calif. April 20, 2009 - Sutter Davis Hospital received another trophy for its display case on April 16–17 when members of the staff accepted the Eureka Award for Performance Excellence in front of hundreds of attendees at the California Council for Excellence Annual Conference. The hospital was notified of the honor in February.
The Eureka Award comes from the California Council for Excellence, a statewide not-for-profit education foundation dedicated to helping California organizations achieve world-class results. The Eureka Award is the highest honor given by the organization.
During the conference, Assistant Administrator Stephen Gray gave a presentation to conference attendees on the topic of leadership, the category in which SDH scored the highest. Gray and other members of the management team then attended a luncheon during which SDH accepted the award.
"We are certainly very proud of this honor, yet the most exciting part is that we’ll be taking the feedback we received from the California Council and applying it within Sutter Davis Hospital to improve our organization and enhance patient care," said Gray.
The crystal, California-shaped trophy is currently circulating through departments and will eventually make its home in the lobby display case
