Flu Blog Connects Doctors with Community
SACRAMENTO, Calif., May 1, 2009 – Patients concerned about swine flu, now known as 2009 H1N1 flu, are getting the latest information and questions answered by physicians through a new blog established by Sutter Health on its www.MyLifeStages.org Web portal.
Online medical experts Drs. Toni Brayer and Tom Hopkins are posting the latest information about the flu outbreak and responding to consumer questions.
About the Physicians
Toni Brayer M.D., Internal Medicine, Chief Medical Officer, Sutter Health West Bay Region
Dr. Brayer has practiced internal medicine in San Francisco for over 20 years. She graduated Cum laude from the University of Arizona College of Medicine and is a Fellow in the American College of Physicians. Dr. Brayer has served as president of the San Francisco Medical Society, chief of staff at California Pacific Medical Center and is currently the medical advisor for www.MyLifeStages.org.
Thomas Hopkins M.D., Internal Medicine, Bariatrics, Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento
Dr. Tom is a well-known public expert in diabetes, hypertension and heart disease and bariatric medicine (weight management). He is co-medical director of Bariatric Services and medical director of the Tobacco Cessation program at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Medical Association, California Medical Association and the American Society of Bariatric Physicians. Dr. Tom graduated from and completed his residency at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
