    Sutter Health President & CEO Honored by George Washington University

    Pat Fry Receives 2011 Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award

    SACRAMENTO, Calif., March 23, 2011 - Pat Fry, President and CEO of Sutter Health this week received the 2011 Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award from George Washington University and the Health Services Management and Leadership Student Association.

    The award recognizes exceptional commitment, dedication and service to the program and students. Nominees are evaluated by a select committee based on criteria such as past service to the program, achievement in their career, position within the industry and service to the community.

    In his nearly 30 years with Sutter Health, Fry has led the not-for-profit organization in advancing medical care quality, further improving access to care and helping make care more affordable. As the health care environment experiences complex change, Fry and Sutter Health remain committed to transforming care for patients and supporting fundamental changes in health care delivery.

    Fry earned a master’s degree in health services administration from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. in 1982. Immediately following, he joined the not-for-profit Sutter Health organization as an administrative resident at Sutter General Hospital in Sacramento. Over the ensuing years, Fry held increasingly responsible administrative positions both at the local affiliate and regional levels. He became Sutter’s president and chief executive officer in June 2005.
