    Three Sutter Health Affiliates Named Best Places to Work in Health care

    Modern Healthcare Reveals its Top 100 List


    SACRAMENTO, Calif., August 29, 2011 - Modern Healthcare recognized three affiliates in the Sutter Health network as among the nation’s 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare. Sutter Health affiliates make up nearly half of all the California-based healthcare organizations on the 2011 list.

    • Sutter Davis Hospital - Davis, Calif.
      For a third consecutive year Sutter Davis Hospital has been named to Modern Healthcare’s prestigious list. Sutter Davis and Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center of Santa Cruz are the only two acute care hospitals in California to receive the honor. Sutter Davis has received numerous health care awards over the past five years, including selection this year by Thomson Reuters as one of the top 100 hospitals in the United States based on overall organizational performance. The 48-bed, 94,000-square-foot hospital serves residents of Davis, Dixon, Winters, Woodland, West Sacramento, Vacaville and rural communities throughout Yolo and eastern Solano counties.
    • Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center of Santa Cruz - Santa Cruz, Calif.
      This is the third consecutive year Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center of Santa Cruz (SMSC) has made the top 100 list. Along with Sutter Davis hospital, they are the only two acute care hospitals in California to receive the honor. With 30 licensed beds and state-of-the-art perinatal and medical/surgical services, SMSC also received the Summit Award by Press Ganey Associates for the third year in a row for being in the top 5 percent nationally in patient satisfaction. SMSC is one of only three hospitals in California to receive the Summit Award.
    • Sutter Medical Foundation - Sacramento, Calif.
      Sutter Medical Foundation (SMF) is the only medical foundation recognized on the list. Working with more than 1,300 primary care physicians and medical specialists, SMF is a multi-specialty healthcare provider delivering comprehensive care to patients at clinics throughout Sacramento, Nevada, Placer, Solano, Sutter, Yolo and Yuba counties.
    Modern Healthcare has published its Top 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare for four years. The program is available to all healthcare organizations (providers, suppliers, payers, associations, etc.) with at least 25 employees. This year, 327 national healthcare employers participated in a rigorous review process, which included employer and randomly selected employee surveys. Winners are determined from survey feedback about company practices, benefits, leadership and planning, culture and communications, working environment, training and development, pay and benefits and overall satisfaction.
