Sutter Health names Todd Peterson Support Chief Information Officer
SACRAMENTO, Calif., April 16, 2002 — Sutter Health, one of the nation's leading not-for-profit networks of community-based health care providers, has named Todd Peterson support chief information officer. In naming Peterson to this newly created leadership position, Sutter Health further demonstrates its commitment to improving patient care through the integration of technologies with clinical best practices.
Calling upon 20 years of experience in health care information technology, Peterson primarily will be responsible for the operation and strategic alignment of the technical and applications units within the Sutter Health System Support Information Technology Group. He will oversee the telecom technical groups, data center operations and clinical systems that serve more than 30 affiliated hospitals and physician organizations within the not-for-profit Sutter Health network.
"With his leadership and expertise, Todd will help advance Sutter Health's good work in creating and enhancing technology-based products that improve outcomes for our hospitals, physicians and — most importantly — our patients," said Chief Information Officer John Hummel.
Most recently, Peterson served as regional CIO for Sutter Health East Bay. He also worked in leadership positions for another Sutter Health affiliate, Mills-Peninsula Health Services, as well as for Columbia Healthcare, St. Joseph's Health System, Mt. Diablo Medical Center and SMS Medical Systems.
