The Physician Group Clinical Care Ratings shown in the Pay-for-Performance Report Card are 28 clinical measures taken from patient services data recorded by physician groups and health plans. These measures are based on the medical services provided to commercial and Medicare advantage HMO or Point of Service (POS) members, respectively, who received care from physician groups during 2009.

Scores are based on commercial patient responses to the Patient Assessment Survey (PAS). Adult patients from more than 180 California medical groups and Independent Practice Associations (IPAs) responded to the survey. Patients are asked to rate the care and service provided by their doctors and other medical staff in the medical group during 2009.
