Investing in Innovation

History in the Making

Congress passed landmark health care reform rules into law. Sutter Health, in turn, accelerated patient-centered changes already underway across our network.

Stepping Up

Sutter Health accelerated the pace of our electronic health record (EHR) implementation within our affiliated hospitals. We will invest hundreds of millions of dollars to make this important technology tool available to our caregivers—enhancing patient safety and quality care.

Staying Connected

Patients enrolled in My Health Online can access their personal health records anywhere, anytime. Adding the ability to securely e-message their care team got rave reviews from patients. Named Best in Class

For the second consecutive year, (Link opens in a new window) Sutter Health's interactive website for women, won a gold award from eHealthcare Leadership Awards for "Best Interactive Consumer Site." Find us Anywhere, Anytime

For smartphone users, we introduced the iTriage mobile app to help consumers look up their symptoms and health conditions, and locate our nearby services and physicians.

Encouraging Innovative Thinking

Sutter-affiliated Palo Alto Medical Foundation established the David Druker Center for Health Systems Innovation in June 2010 to encourage creative thinking and solutions to challenges in the health care industry. The Center was established in memory of Palo Alto Medical Foundation CEO David Druker, M.D., who led the development of the Sutter Medical Network.

Cutting-Edge Collaboration

Sutter Health joined a select group of organizations nationally to launch Care Everywhere, a new technology that enables medical teams from separate organizations to share a patient's medical records at the time he or she receives care. Through this technology, Sutter Health is now linked with UC Davis Health System, Stanford, and Santa Cruz County Health Services to share vital patient information.
