In 2011, we continued to build upon our commitment to creating healthier communities. As our national and state economies struggled and many Californians had fewer dollars to spend on medical care, we invested a record $756 million in medical programs and services for those in need. In doing so, we steadfastly upheld our not-for-profit mission: enhancing the well-being of the people we serve through a commitment to compassion and excellence.
