    DAY HOSPITALIST--Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation (SPMF) has an opportunity for a board certified/eligible Hospitalist to join the Hospitalist Group at California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC), as part of Physician Foundation Medical Associates (PFMA). PFMA is a multi-specialty medical association made up of over 160 members operating in San Francisco. CPMC (a Leapfrog Group Top Hospital) has been considered the best hospital in the Bay Area (San Francisco Chronicle reader survey) and the 'Healthiest Hospital in America' Natural Health magazine). Sutter Health is a multi-billion dollar healthcare company with hospitals, foundations, and affiliated medical groups from Modesto to the Oregon border and is the second largest healthcare system in Northern California.

    We have an immediate opening for a BC/BE hospitalist to work with a world renowned transplant service in managing a diverse group of transplant, hepatology, gastroenterology and general internal medicine patients in Sutter Health's Flagship Hospital. Join us in managing medically complex patients with a team of nationally renowned specialists. A full complement of consult services, a top-notch radiology service, and an interactive inpatient pharmacy are here to assist you in patient care.

    This exciting, state-of-the-art and innovative program integrates general medicine, liver disease, complex GI, perioperative and end-organ disease management into a team that maximizes patient care, satisfaction and outcomes. The service is designed to provide excellent work-life balance with a volume of service that allows for thorough care of patients. Compensation includes one of the best benefit packages in California.

    Responsibilities include: 10 hour day shifts (8am-6pm) with approximately 14 shifts per month and one weekend in three on call. Swing shifts occur 1 month out of every 7 months (rotational assignment with the other day hospitalists), with 7 hour shifts (3pm-10pm) from Monday to Friday with all weekends off. No code pager responsibilities. A very experienced medical physician assistant is available 4 days a week to assist with intake and procedures. There are no overnight responsibilities with this position (night shifts are occasionally available at a separate compensation rate). Occasional procedures performed include paracenteses, thoracenteses, lumbar punctures and central lines. A portable ultrasound is available to assist with procedures.
