    East Bay Physicians Medical Group is seeking a full time Medical Director responsible for the continued development of the Palliative Care Program at Sutter Delta Medical Center, a busy 140+ licensed acute care facility located in Antioch CA.

    Overall responsibility includes providing leadership and direction for the ongoing development of the Palliative Care program and the multidisciplinary palliative care hospital team. Primary duties include inpatient consultative services to patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families, expert source of information to the medical staff, administrative team, hospital staff, community partners and others. Also works collaboratively with the Regional Medical Director, Palliative Care and other system wide palliative care providers.
    This is an ideal position for an individual who is a strong leader that values team building and collaboration. Experience in hospital based palliative care program development preferred.

    Physician Foundation Medical Associates (SPMF), in the heart of San Francisco, is seeking a fellowship trained, BC/BE Palliative Medicine physician to join our inpatient team. Our interdisciplinary team consists of physicians, nurse practitioners, palliative care chaplains, volunteers, and staff social workers.

    Provide care at California Pacific Medical Center, is a tertiary care hospital, providing advanced medical care for a 24 Sutter Health hospital system, including neuro, cardiac and critical care ICUs, transplant, oncology, advanced heart failure and hepatology and interventional endoscopy services. The hospital is associated with ACGME accredited Residencies and Fellowships. The Palliative Medicine department has been providing care for patients for over ten years, and as such, the team is fully integrated into this academic and community environment and enjoys a respected, collegial relationship with our diverse academic faculty, private community physicians, hospitalists and administrators.

    The services provided by our Inpatient Palliative Medicine Team include comprehensive symptom management, extensive education regarding disease processes and treatment options, discussions related to patients? values and goals of care, emotional and spiritual support, advanced care planning and assistance with complex care coordination. Additionally, we provide direct resident education during core palliative medicine rotations, and regularly participate in staff education and protocol development. Opportunities are available to participate in research both locally and in our large hospital system, as well as program development as we seek to build an outpatient presence in the next two years.

    Our ideal candidate is someone interested in working closely but independently with a group of happy, supportive clinicians. We seek a team-player with a strong work ethic and high levels of empathy and compassion. As medical education is an important part of our services, excellent communication skills and strong clinical judgment are a must; Internal Medicine board certification is strongly preferred.
