    Philosophy of Care

    As a specialist in cataract surgery, PAMF provides me with state-of-the-art equipment to provide world class care. Just as importantly, though, I believe in taking the time to discuss the needs and lifestyles of each of my patients, so I can customize my care and each procedure. It’s my pleasure to offer my patients the choice of intraocular lenses that correct presbyopia and astigmatism, providing independence from wearing glasses.

    Volunteering my time teaching cataract surgery in India, Africa and Bhutan, as well as performing much-needed surgery at charity hospitals, has given me a deeper appreciation of how fortunate we are to be in the U.S. for our medical care.

    In addition, I lecture at Stanford and write articles on environmental health. I believe it is important for physicians, whatever their specialty, to practice preventative medicine and care for the patient as a whole person.

    I was born and raised in Cupertino. For over 20 years, I have worked in Sunnyvale at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation. It is a privilege to serve my home town community.
