Philosophy of Care
I've always had a curious mind and a broad range of interests. I initially chose family medicine because it encompasses a broad range of medical science from pediatrics to geriatrics to women's health. Then, as I began to practice, I've learned to cherish the continuity of care that comes with taking care of patients over long periods of time, as well as the ability to develop long-term patient-doctor relationships.
I always feel privileged to have you entrust me with your health problems and enjoy being the person you can always talk to about health concerns. I believe that treatment is most effective when I empower you with information so we can work together as a team to improve your health. I place great emphasis on patient education and on preventive care, which includes not only preventive screenings, but also healthy lifestyle changes.
Having being born outside of the United States, I am also sensitive to and pay close attention to patients' differences in cultures, ethnic backgrounds and perspectives on health care. A better understanding of these differences allows me to take better care of you.
At the PAMF Dublin Center, I am a member of the Patient-Centered Model Committee whose goal is to develop and improve on a new model of patient visit experience. Our focus is on providing consistently high-quality patient care, improving the efficiency of visits so patients can spend more time with their providers to focus on important health issues and improving the overall patient experience.

Additional Background Information
I was born in Taiwan, came to the United States when I was 10, and grew up in the Bay Area (Piedmont). I enjoy the Bay Area's weather, food and diversity, and have always felt lucky to call this place home.
In 2005, my wife and I decided to settle down in the Tri-Valley area when I accepted a job offer in Livermore. We knew that the area would be great for families and, more importantly, we knew that the PAMF Dublin Center would be opening up close to home! Now that I've joined PAMF, I enjoy coming to work everyday and can't think of a better place to work!
I became a physician because of something my parents taught me at a young age -- "true happiness is earned through helping others." As a physician, I am blessed with being my patients' healer, counselor and friend -– all at the same time!
