I consider it to be both an honor and a privilege to be a doctor, and I love what I do. I am drawn to family medicine because of the unique and long-term relationships that I am able to develop with individuals and families, and I feel that the best healing takes place within this context. I maintain a sense or wonder and appreciation for the complexities of life and death, health and illness, and complicated human interactions. I believe that prevention is the best medicine, and I also seek to help each person to optimize his or her health. I do my best to be fully present as an active listener, and I encourage my patients to take an active role in making positive changes for personal health and well-being.
