Philosophy of Care

My interest in the prevention and care of injuries began early. This interest led to my initial training as a sports physical therapist and athletic trainer. I spent hundreds of hours on athletic fields and courtside treating acute sports injuries at the college level. Early in my career, while working at New York University Medical Center, I had an opportunity to rotate through their Gait Laboratory, where it became clear to me that many of the injuries I was seeing in the lower extremities related to variations in gait. My interest was piqued in biomechanics and these exposures gave me some great background as I pursued further medical education and surgical training.

I believe that the history given by your patient is what most often leads to an accurate diagnosis. Listening and educating are the keys to my style of practice. My practice has always been quite busy and varied. I am extremely fortunate to have found a career that allows me to use my experience and training to help people.
