    Dr. Shiue is developing a program to teach cooking to patients and the community. She has been a home cook since childhood and has taken several formal cooking classes, including at Le Cordon Bleu, Paris and the Culinary Institutes of America, St. Helena. In her cooking demonstrations and hands-on workshops, Dr. Shiue teaches the fundamentals of delicious, healthy cooking as a building block of health. She contributes to the health column for the Redwood Shores Pilot, is a member of the teaching faculty at UCSF and an active school volunteer.

    Dr. Shiue enjoys travel, cooking, writing, hiking, and spending time with her family.
