My additional expertise is in the evaluation and management of exercise problems in young athletes and children with various medical conditions. Shortness of breath with exercise is very common among young athletes, and early recognition of airway diseases specific to athletes is essential in preventing unnecessary distress, decreased performance, and long-term damage to the airways. Furthermore, there is a growing body of research demonstrating the diagnostic and therapeutic benefits of exercise for many chronic medical conditions. My goal is to help young athletes and chronically ill children exercise safely, optimize their performance and improve the prognosis of their underlying conditions. Other professional interests include: Exercise intolerance, Exertional dyspnea, Athlete care
Member of the American Thoracic Society, the American College of Sports Medicine, the USA Swimming Sports Medicine and Science Network, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Exercise Research Workgroup. Past member of the American College of Sports Medicine Youth Sports and Health Strategic Health Initiative and the CTSA CCHOC Pediatric Exercise Evaluation Workgroup.
My personal interests include outdoor activities and sports, including running, cycling, hiking, and skiing. I enjoy music and literature and raising my two young girls.
