Why does Sutter Health use an online application?

As a service to our communities, it is important to make our open positions available to anyone who is seeking employment. We value customer service, speed in processing the application, and selection of the most qualified candidate.

Should I email, fax or mail you a copy of my resume and cover letter, even if I have applied online?

Once you have submitted your online application, you do not need to provide Sutter Health with additional information. All the information required to consider your application is contained in your General Profile and Online Application.

What are the benefits to providing a cover letter?

A cover letter is an opportunity to introduce yourself to a Human Resources professional and/or hiring manager. Use this chance to distinguish yourself and let us know why you would be the perfect candidate for one of our positions.

I do not have a computer, where can I apply online?

Sutter Health takes pride in offering several public computer locations that are available to you should you need access to a computer.

Why don’t you provide salary/pay ranges for all your positions?

Salaries are based on the depth and length of work experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, and other evaluated skill sets for the position. The compensation package is sometimes quoted after confirmation of the above components.

What about the confidentiality of my application information?

Your information is private and is not shared with anyone outside Sutter Health and its affiliate organizations. It is only used for employment purposes.

How can I contact a recruiter or hiring manager directly?

We are not authorized to provide recruiter or hiring manager contact information to candidates. Each affiliate houses their own HR Department and their recruitment methods may differ. You might be able to find this information on the specific affiliate's website.

Why is my job search returning too few or too many jobs?

Once you reach the job search page, the search criteria you are entering may be too detailed or too broad—try expanding or narrowing your search. For example, try a job search using only one of the choices on the search page, like location only. If you get too many results, you can always narrow your search by adding more criteria.

Why are so many positions online outdated?

The recruitment process varies greatly from position to position. We encourage you to apply for any position that you are interested in regardless of the posting date.

What happens to my application once a position I’ve applied for is filled?

Your applications remain in our system and can be viewed by all our recruiters for specific skill sets. You have the opportunity to view your application status by viewing your “My Job Folder” tab located on the Job Search page.
