Prostatitis
What Increases Your Risk
Things that can increase your risk for prostatitis include:
- A recent Reference urinary tract infection (UTI) Opens New Window.
- Insertion of a urinary Reference catheter Opens New Window or having a Reference cystoscopy Opens New Window.
- Reference Sexually transmitted infections Opens New Window (STIs).
- Injury, such as from riding a bicycle or horse.
If you have had chronic bacterial prostatitis, you have an increased chance of developing it again.
