Mercaptopurine
Why It Is Used
Mercaptopurine is used to treat Reference acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) Opens New Window. It may also be used when Reference chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) Opens New Window becomes a more aggressive disease and, very rarely, for Reference acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) Opens New Window.
Mercaptopurine is also sometimes used to treat Reference non-Hodgkin's lymphoma Opens New Window, Reference inflammatory bowel disease Opens New Window, Reference Crohn's disease Opens New Window, and Reference ulcerative colitis Opens New Window that has not responded to other drugs.
