Insomnia (also called insomnia disorder) means not being able to sleep well. Short-term or temporary insomnia is very common and usually isn't a problem. Chronic insomnia lasts a month or longer. It can be caused by other problems, like depression, chronic pain, medicines, or poor sleep habits.
