Gestational diabetes affects up to 15 percent of pregnant women. Other women have diabetes before they become pregnant. If diabetes affects you, Sutter’s experienced OB/Gyn and maternal-fetal medicine doctors, endocrinologies and diabetes educators located throughout Northern California, can help you learn the skills you need to manage your blood glucose (blood sugar) levels and keep you and your baby healthy throughout your pregnancy, delivery and after birth. We offer additional services including:
- Sweet Success — This program provides one-to-one care, small group meetings and ongoing support to women who develop diabetes during pregnancy or have diabetes before becoming pregnant.
- High-Risk Pregnancy Care — The term “high-risk pregnancy” sounds frightening, but it simply means that doctors and other pregnancy diabetes experts will closely monitor your pregnancy and provide you with training on how to manage blood glucose (blood sugar) levels so that you and your baby can avoid complications.
- Support Programs and Classes — Get the information you need to know about diabetes during pregnancy—what it is, how it can affect you and your baby, and how to manage it and avoid complications.
