Your employees will have access to critical breast health services with the same high-quality care as other Sutter locations. [Request a visit](https://feedback.sutterhealth.org/f/152892/1006/) ### All aboard The [Carol Ann Read Breast Health Center](https://www.sutterhealth.org/find-location/facility/carol-ann-read-breast-health-center-1043246602) is home to our 40-foot mobile mammography van. It’s equipped with the latest [3D mammography](https://www.sutterhealth.org/services/breast-imaging) technology and is staffed by a dedicated breast health team. ### Easier access The American Cancer Society recommends annual mammograms starting at age 45 for women at average risk of breast cancer. Bringing a mobile mammography van to workplaces makes it easy for women to get screened. Early detection boosts the survival rate to 99%. Frequently asked questions  **What’s the eligibility criteria?** All employees and their dependents who are eligible under their employer’s group health plan can participate. Women over 40 without breast complaints or concerns are eligible, provided it's been 365 days since their last exam. Employees with different health plans may also qualify. Mammography eligibility varies by health plan, so please consult your insurance provider for the latest criteria. See our [health maintenance guidelines](https://www.sutterhealth.org/health/preventive-care-guidelines). **What are the requirements for booking a mammogram on the mobile vehicle?** Appointments are required a minimum of three weeks before the appointment. You’ll need a [My Health Online (MHO)](https://www.sutterhealth.org/patient-resources/my-health-online) account and primary care physician (PCP) to receive your results. If you don’t have My Health Online, [learn more about enrolling](https://www.sutterhealth.org/patient-resources/my-health-online/enroll). [Schedule an appointment on the mammography van](https://feedback.sutterhealth.org/f/155358/30bd/). **What does it cost to have a mammogram on the mobile vehicle?** If paid through in-network insurance and done as a preventive screening, the cost is covered. There’s no additional cost beyond what a person would pay at a Sutter Health permanent location. **What insurance is accepted?** Sutter Health accepts most major insurance providers. Visit our [health plan site](https://www.sutterhealth.org/health-plan) for more details. **How do I prepare for my mammogram?** Your mammogram should be scheduled after your period if you’re still menstruating. After bathing on day of the exam, please don’t use powder, cream, lotion, perfume, antiperspirant or deodorant under your arms or around the breast area. Dress in a two-piece outfit. You’ll be asked to remove the top piece for your screening. Bring your prior mammogram films and reports if you’re new to our center. **How will I get my results?** After a radiologist interprets your mammogram, they’ll inform your doctor of your results. You’ll receive a letter in the mail with your results and a phone call if further evaluation is needed. **How is data stored?** Data is stored in our secure digital patient portal, [My Health Online](https://www.sutterhealth.org/patient-resources/my-health-online) (MHO).
