NOTE: The Summer Volunteer Program has been Cancelled
As you are likely aware, coronavirus (COVID-19) cases has been identified in Northern California, and we are experiencing a heavy flu season. Sutter Health is dedicated to helping keep our patients, staff and community safe. In order to do this, we are cancelling the Summer Volunteer Program. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Are you interested in giving back to your community and sharing your time and heart with our hospital patients and families? If you only have time during the summer break to volunteer, and are at least 18 years old, you can do that at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento. The minimum commitment is 100 hours over a 9 or 10 week period in the summer usually serving three, 4-hour shifts per week.
“Summer-Only” opportunities are offered in many areas of the hospital including patient care units, pre- and post-surgery units, and the Hospital Ambassador program. Some areas have urgent needs for volunteers. Our Volunteer Coordinators can help match you with an assignment that works for your summer schedule and the needs of the hospital.
Group orientations are scheduled in mid/late-May and mid-June. Please visit our General Orientation Sessions for dates and registration instructions. You must have already completed your online application, interview and all required paperwork before attending the scheduled orientation
