Comprehensive Diabetes Care

If you’re diagnosed with prediabetes, it’s time to take action. In the Sutter Health network, we offer diabetes prevention programs—for kids, teens and adults—as well as weight management classes, events and support groups. We offer special programs to help you lose weight, improve your diet and reduce your risk for cardiovascular disease. Here are some of the options.

Diabetes Prevention Programs

Our yearlong diabetes prevention programs are based on the Group Lifestyle Balance Program®, developed by the University of Pittsburgh in conjunction with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). The program adapts the curriculum used in the National Institutes of Health Diabetes Prevention Program. That national study of people with prediabetes found that those who lost a modest amount of weight through healthy eating and increased physical activity significantly reduced their risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

This program is offered at 15 convenient Sutter locations across Northern California.
