Depending on your urological disorder, symptoms and health history, your treatment plan may include a mix of medications, surgical procedures, physical therapy and pelvic rehabilitation.
Bladder Disorder Treatment
Bladder disorders, such as overactive bladder, are typically treated through behavior modification, lifestyle changes, bladder retraining, medication and nerve stimulation.
In men, bladder disorders may also be caused by an enlarged prostate, called benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). We offer a range of treatments for BPH including minimally invasive surgical procedures, such as transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) and green light laser TURP.
Interstitial Cystitis Treatment
Women are 10 times more likely than men to have interstitial cystitis, and it usually appears between age 30 and 40. Interstitial cystitis can be treated in a variety of ways including lifestyle changes, such as stress management.
You may be asked to keep a food journal to identify foods and drinks that trigger flare ups, as well as be prescribed medications – antihistamines, anti-inflammatory drugs, ibuprofen or acetaminophen—to help relieve your symptoms.
Surgeries, such as resection or bladder augmentation, may also be used to treat interstitial cystitis. Other therapies include:
