A certified childbirth instructor prepares expectant mothers and their partners for birth. The class includes information on the normal labor and delivery process, relaxation and breathing techniques, the partner's role, hospital procedures, anesthesia options, cesarean birth, postpartum, and early parenting.
This class does not include a Birth Center Tour, for dates and times: www.sutterhealth.org/absmc-parent-education.
Please note a maximum of 2 people per registration for Alta Bates classes.
What to Bring
Please bring pillows and a mat or blanket with you
The pillows may make the chairs more comfortable and we will use the pillows and mats on the floor for various exercises throughout class
Parking Instructions
Parking is available in the Ashby Garage across the street from the hospital. Garage entrance location is on Colby Ave. between Webster St. and Ashby Ave.
Please feel free to ask security about validated parking or choose to find street parking.
