## Surgery Residency Program

Residents in the program will have access to the tools they need in a learning environment that prepares future physicians to provide safe, high quality surgical care. The residents joining now, as we begin the program, will also have the unique opportunity to help shape what is expected to be a premier residency led by renowned trauma surgeon [Jon Perlstein, M.D, FACS](https://www.sutterhealth.org/education/gme/residencies/srmc-surgery/message-from-program-director). Learn about the [curriculum](https://www.sutterhealth.org/education/gme/residencies/srmc-surgery/curriculum) and [didactic activities](https://www.sutterhealth.org/education/gme/residencies/srmc-surgery/didactic-activities).

The program’s primary site is Sutter Roseville Medical Center. The medical center houses 14 main operating rooms as well as two surgery centers with five ORs in each. Surgery residents will also rotate to nearby Sutter Medical Center Sacramento and UC Davis Medical Center. At each location, residents will train under board-certified and licensed physicians.
