I'm just incredibly proud\nof the entire pharmacy team and the patient care\nthat they provide.\nI really want to take this opportunity\nto share with the broader healthcare team\nand create some visibility to the good work\nthat they do every day.\n\nMELANIE DECKER: The Pharmacotherapy clinic\nis a clinic that's been established\nto incorporate a pharmacist into the oncology department.\nSo pharmacists that are in this clinic\nwork closely with physicians, nurses, social workers,\nand other staff members to help patients\nin their cancer treatment.\nJUNGSOO KIM: A lot of our providers\nare overwhelmed with workload.\nSo to reduce, to give it to a lot of our pharmacists\nwho can help them.\nAnd then we are the one who knows about the pharmacotherapy\nof the medications.\nSAMUEL PITAK: We take our primary care doctors or any\nof our physicians, we try to take all of the things that\nare coming into their in-basket, so that would be refills,\npatient questions, phone calls, try to divide it up\nto other potential people who can handle those messages\nfaster or more efficiently so that the physician doesn't\nhave to spend as much time in their in-basket.\nDAN LI: At the Advanced Heart Therapy Clinic,\nI'm a member of a multidisciplinary team.\nSo anything medication related, I play a role there.\nI'm a consulting person for any staff\nwho has medication questions and available for patient too.\nMARVIN ESCOLAR: As a Financial Navigator,\nI help patients with out of pocket cost.\nSo the cost of treatment for a patient, if it's extremely high\nor that they won't be able to afford it,\nthey might forgo that treatment.\nAnd my role is just to be that person\nto help them find programs and assistance\nso that they are able to get that treatment.\nDAN LI: We have a lot of collaboration\nto offer the best patient care we can.\nSo when the doctors send the prescription,\nthey know the patient will get it because they can rely on me.\nMARVIN ESCOLAR: I'm just very blessed to be here.\nJust being in the environment here at Sutter,\nhaving one goal in mind, providing that care\nfor the patient, that's something that inspires me.\nSAMUEL PITAK: And we're always looking for what's next\nand how can we offer services where there wasn't any.\nSo we are always innovating and thinking\nof where we can do that.\nAnd when we do put a pharmacist somewhere,\nwe really work hard to make sure that they're\ndoing their absolute highest level work that they can.\nMELANIE DECKER: It's an honor to work with these patients.\nAnd this is a wonderful career to have\nto be able to help patients in their journeys,\nin a very difficult, challenging time of their lives.\nI feel like I can make the most impacts.\nJUNSOO KIM: I love this
