The Sutter Health East Bay PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program is accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). **Do residents staff?** Yes. Residents participate in a longitudinal staffing experience designed to build operational proficiency while supporting patient care and developing independence. **Do residents complete research?** Yes. Each resident completes a year-long research project, presents findings at the Western States Conference, and participates in additional scholarly activities, including a medication use evaluation or quality improvement project. **Is a teaching certificate available?** Yes. Convenient access to BART and major highways makes commuting between training sites straightforward, while proximity to San Francisco, Napa Valley, Lake Tahoe, and the California coast provides endless opportunities for weekend adventures.
