Lavanya Viswanathan, M.D., M.S., FACP

Dr. Lavanya Viswanathan, MD, MS, FACP, is a double board certified Internist and Gastroenterologist with special training in Neurogastroenterology and Motility disorders of the gut. She believes in a holistic evaluation of her patients as she believes this allows for a more thorough workup. She has trained and practiced medicine all over the world, due to her military service. She is also an invited lecturer at several academic institutions, national medical organizations and international conferences. She is a leader both at work and within her community. She serves as the Chief of Gastroenterology at David Grant Medical Center, where she is a Lt Col in the USAF. She is also an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University and UC Davis. She engages in health policy advocacy work as well as community service.
