Marion L. Guyer, M.D.

Dr. Guyer combines expertise in internal medicine with an integrative medicine approach as a Primary Care Physician with the Institute for Health & Healing.  She will help create preventative care plans, treat chronic conditions and enhance overall wellbeing in partnership with patients.  As a seasoned physician, she also draws on expertise in nutrition, mind-body medicine, yoga, cognitive-behavioral therapy and other integrative skills. Her care plans may include referrals to acupuncture, massage, chiropractic care, yoga, exercise and nutrition.

Dr. Guyer has interests in treating patients with a wide range of conditions including: cardiovascular issues such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and coronary artery disease; women’s health concerns, environmental toxin exposure, psycho-spiritual health issues, depression, anxiety, insomnia and stress-related illnesses.

I entered Medicine after providing Public Health services to disadvantaged communities in Malawi, Africa and California. I trained in preventive and primary care medicine, before specializing in Internal Medicine.   My background in public health informs my approach to medicine by emphasizing the interplay of personal, spiritual, environmental and community wellness.  My patients describe me as warm, attentive, thorough and clinically astute. I delight in taking patients off pharmaceuticals when indicated, and in turn will work with my patients to include exercise, nutrition, and mind-body practices in their plans for optimal health.
