Philosophy of Care
I am a heart failure and heart transplant cardiologist. I care for people with heart muscle disease, who have an LVAD (heart pump), and who have received a heart transplant. Because heart failure can be a continuous and lifelong challenge, my approach to care is to be the person that I would want my loved ones to see: first and foremost, compassionate and respectful of your desires, but also dedicated to building a long-term relationship. Of course, we all hope to see as few doctors as possible. But when we do meet, my goal is that you are comfortable -- not just in the physical sense, but also with the decisions you make. I work closely with a clinical care team composed of heart surgeons, physicians, nurse clinicians, care coordinators, social workers, and therapists to manage your illness and provide comprehensive and cutting-edge care.
