Philosophy of Care
We dedicate our children’s eye clinic to be a friendly and comfortable place for you and your child. My team commits to bring you high-quality care that meets and exceeds standards anywhere. We want to hear about your and your child's unique concerns. Knowing these helps me to design a treatment plan that accurately protects or enhances your child’s eyesight. My overall mission is to support your precious child to reach his or her full potential.
I work closely with your primary care doctor to firstly prevent your child from losing eyesight. If your child has lost any eyesight, we prepare an efficient plan to assess and restore that eyesight. Sometimes we find your child will benefit from treatments ranging from wearing an eye patch all the way up to surgery. If we judge your child will benefit from surgery, for example with a cloudy lens (cataract), or with misaligned eyes (strabismus), I am experienced in minimally invasive surgical techniques. These techniques enhance your child’s safety and recovery. They also help your child get back to school more quickly and comfortably.
If you are an adult with strabismus, we possess special instruments with which we can fine-tune your diagnosis. These instruments simulate what your binocular eyesight might be like under various conditions. These simulations will more fully inform you such that you can picture your options with more clarity, before choosing a treatment plan. I recommend matching a treatment plan to the ways strabismus affects you personally. In order to personalize your plan, we offer a strabismus questionnaire. This questionnaire highlights both obvious plus non-obvious effects that strabismus can impose upon your quality of life. With these highlights, we can then together focus on options that restore and improve the quality of your vision and of your life.
