Harbison's practice is built on a simple conviction: patients make the best decisions about their spine when they truly understand what is happening in their body. Surgery is a powerful tool, but one he reserves as a last resort, offered only after appropriate non-operative options have been thoughtfully explored and exhausted. His clinical focus encompasses the full spectrum of cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine conditions, with particular expertise in degenerative and deformity spine surgery. He cares for both adults and children. Whether the concern is a herniated disc, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, scoliosis, or a complex spinal deformity, his goal is to match each patient to the least invasive, most durable solution that fits their individual goals and stage of life. Dr. Harbison has a special interest in motion preservation and non-fusion surgeries, surgical approaches designed to relieve pain and restore function while maintaining the natural movement of the spine. This includes minimally invasive decompression, cervical laminoplasty, and cervical disc arthroplasty (artificial disc replacement), techniques that can be excellent alternatives to traditional fusion for appropriately selected patients. Preserving motion, when it is the right choice, can help patients return to the activities they love with fewer long-term limitations.
