Recognizing that deciding whether and when to undergo surgery is one of the most important healthcare decisions a patient can make, he strives to provide the information and guidance needed to help patients make the choice that is right for them. In some cases, that may mean choosing a non-surgical treatment approach. He works closely with a highly skilled team of audiologists to provide hearing restoration surgery for patients who were born deaf or who have experienced severe hearing loss. Helping patients regain their ability to hear is one of the most rewarding aspects of his practice, and he remains committed to continuously refining his techniques and advancing patient care. He is a strong advocate for minimally invasive surgical techniques when appropriate. For example, endoscopic ear surgery can allow many procedures to be performed without the need for large external incisions behind or around the ear. He also collaborates closely with neurosurgeons, radiologists, and radiation oncologists to provide multidisciplinary care for patients with acoustic neuromas and other benign, slow-growing tumors affecting the hearing and balance nerves. In many cases, these conditions can be effectively managed through observation or stereotactic radiation therapy rather than surgery.
