Celebrate CPMC Van Ness Opening Gala

On the evening of February 7, 2019, before the first patient is admitted, CPMC Foundation hosted a one-time-only, never-before-seen-in-San-Francisco event to celebrate the opening of CPMC’s new Van Ness Campus.

This $2.3 billion jewel of a hospital with spectacular city views, financed with Sutter Health and CPMC’s own funds, opens on March 2, 2019.

The hospital was staged for a gala like no other. Through interactive Patient Journeys, digital installations and the presence of CPMC’s expert physicians, 900 guests were immersed in the care our patients will receive and learned the science behind it.

Featured Journeys included holographic emergency department simulations, a robotic surgery digital touch table, and a maternity simulation of an expectant mother’s decisions about her labor and delivery.

The strolling dinner featured artful and delicious food and dessert stations, themed cocktail bars and lounge seating for a festive and luxurious atmosphere throughout the hospital. Musical performances included San Francisco’s Spencer Barnett, The Humidors, Brass Mafia, The Markstep Trio and Eclecta Quartet.
