This test can check for chromosomal conditions, neural tube differences and some genetic disorders. ### Anatomy Scan **Weeks 18-22** You'll have an [ultrasound](https://www.sutterhealth.org/health/anatomy-scan), also called a sonogram, to show how your baby is growing during your second trimester. This is when you can learn your baby's sex if you want to find out before birth.  ### Gestational Diabetes **Weeks 24-28** Most mothers are screened for [gestational diabetes](https://www.sutterhealth.org/services/gestational-diabetes-care) in this time frame.
