"We had a regular nurse, on-call nurses, and chaplain services ... We had an entire network of support."
You, your family and your doctor will determine when it’s time to start hospice, but the earlier you contact us, the better. Patients and their families can receive hospice care for six months or longer, depending on the course of the illness. Hospice care is most beneficial when there is sufficient time to manage symptoms and establish a trusting relationship with both the patient and the family.
Our compassionate staff works closely with family caregivers to provide support and help in many ways. We provide nursing care, pain management, after-hours emergency visits and 24-hour phone consultations. We also offer spiritual support, respite for caregivers and grief counseling. We help meet the physical and emotional needs of both patients and their families.
Our hospice team creates a plan of care with you and your family, then visits your home depending on your needs. We’re available 24/7 for phone calls and emergency visits. If you desire personal care 24 hours a day, our team can help coordinate it.
Hospice care is designed for people who are diagnosed with a terminal illness and have a life expectancy of six months or less. However, you can start hospice care – then go off if your condition improves – and come back when you need it again.
Patients who are eligible for Medicare or Medi-Cal will be able to get most hospice costs covered. In addition, hospice care is widely covered by most private insurance plans.
