Introducing Tera, a dedicated medical team focused on helping you live your healthiest life. Your team includes a doctor, nurse & registered dietitian who all provide in-person or virtual care wherever and whenever you need it.
Tera is a virtual-first medical practice, which means we do our best to resolve issues over the phone or by video visit before scheduling an in-person appointment (when appropriate). Healthcare should fit into your life — not the other way around.
Meet the care teamsYou can expect the same services you receive from your primary care provider, plus more options for interacting with your doctor and care team such as same-day messaging, video visits, and telephone calls. This increased access can reduce the need for in-person appointments because you have a care team to answer questions and treat symptoms as they arise. You’ll also have a private phone line to your care team; no more routing through call centers to have your issue addressed.
If you have an issue that requires in-person care, the team will connect you with your Tera primary care doctor or an appropriate Sutter Health provider. We’ll set up the appointment for you to ensure seamless coordination and follow-up.
Patients with HMO plans that are accepted by Sutter Health foundation providers can use Tera at no additional cost. Select PPO plans may be contracted with Tera, including Sutter Health I Aetna. Please visit https://www.sutterhealth.org/health-plan and Browse by Foundation to find the HMO plans that are covered or contact us with questions.
Tera is a perfect fit for anyone who wants more flexible healthcare, a stronger relationship with their medical team or shared decision-making. If you have a chronic condition, you may find this expanded access especially helpful in monitoring your health. Patients with HMO health plans and Medicare Advantage HMO plans are welcome. Tera is available through select PPO and EPO plans. If you’re interested, please get in touch to see if there is current availability! You can call us at (650) 777-4400 or fill out the Contact UsContact Us (Opens in a new tab/window) form on this website.
Please fill out the Contact UsContact Us (Opens in a new tab/window) form. If you are eligible for Tera, the team will follow up via phone or email. Once you enroll in Tera, you’ll have the option to participate in a Doctor Meet and Greet through a video call. This is a chance for us to get to know each other and for us to understand your health needs. If you are interested in an in-person visit, our team would be happy to schedule a follow-up appointment.
We believe that good healthcare should be accessible to everyone, and we built a model to match. This expanded access is provided at no additional cost. Depending on your health plan, there may be a copay for video visits, just as there are with office visits. Any visits that can be resolved via email or phone call have no copay.
For additional questions about copay and insurance reimbursement, your insurance company is usually the most knowledgeable. Their contact information is printed on your insurance card.
Please send questions or appointment inquiries to your assigned Tera PCP via My Health Online messaging. A member of your care team will follow up shortly with a My Health Online message or a phone call.
A cell phone or laptop is all you need to access video appointments and My Health Online. Through the My Health Online app, you can email your care team, see lab results, request prescription refills and make appointments. Much of our communication happens via the My Health Online app, so we ask that patients consider their comfort with mobile applications when considering becoming a patient.
As much as they can, our care team will troubleshoot initial technical issues with telemedicine, My Health Online and other digital tools. For specific questions about My Health Online, you may also contact our support team any time.
Thanks for letting us be a part of your health journey.
