SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento congenital cardiothoracic surgeon Teimour Nasirov, M.D., is on a mission to educate the public and physicians on chest-wall deformities. He created a free app called “The Pectus Clinic” that describes common chest-wall deformities, their diagnosis, as well as conservative and surgical management. It is available for all smartphones by searching “pectus.”
Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento has one of the few programs in the United States that offer chest-wall deformity surgeries for both children and adults.
Dr. Nasirov said that he wanted to create a simple-to-use application to provide information to clinicians as well as public in general on signs, symptoms, work-up and management of the most common chest-wall deformities.
