Memorial Medical Center recognized for its work with donor program
MODESTO, Calif. – At a “Donate Life Day” event on Memorial Medical Center’s campus in Modesto, staff and leaders were presented with a “Platinum Recognition” proclamation from Donor Network West, acknowledging the incredible work MMC’s team does to promote organ, eye and tissue donations in our community.
“We are very much dedicated to creating awareness about organ donation,” said Ginny Jimenez, RN, a member of MMC’s Donor Council. “It is important that we educate the community, our staff and others about the need for donors to register with the appropriate organ donor registries in their area.”
Donor Network West serves as the federally designated Organ Procurement Organization in Northern/Central California and Northern Nevada and works in close partnership with families, doctors, nurses, and coroners in hospitals to connect donors to recipients.
MMC’s “Donor Day” activities included a display of information at tables in the hospital lobby, including teaching tools to help staff and visitors learn about organ donation options. MMC’s CEO and CNE also conducted a flag-raising ceremony to proudly fly the “Donate Life” flag the entire month of April.
