Sutter Davis Hospital Looks to Expand Patient Family Advisory Council
DAVIS – Sutter Davis Hospital is looking for additional community members to join its Patient and Family Advisor Council. This council involves the community and gains insight and feedback about their experiences at the hospital.
Patient Family Advisors collaborate with leadership, care teams, and clinical initiative teams at Sutter Davis Hospital to help in the planning and decision-making process for future patients. Through this partnership, advisors share their experiences and perspectives, provide the hospital’s care teams with an insider’s view about the patient and family experience and identify opportunities to improve care for all patients and families.
Ideal candidates have received care at Sutter Davis Hospital or have a family member, significant other, or friend who received care within the last five years and are looking for an opportunity to give back to the community in a unique way. Advisors are asked to give 1.5 hours per month to meet and provide advice on a wide range of inquiries. There are opportunities to be involved in process improvement projects as well if desired.
“We have a wonderful group of people on our Patient Family Advisory Council at Sutter Davis Hospital, but we want to expand the group,” said Roberta Mori, director, Patient and Family Engagement, Office of the Patient Experience, Sutter Health. “The feedback a patient can provide us about their experience, or a loved one’s experience, in the hospital is invaluable and a key factor in how we will improve as an overall healthcare system.”
The Patient Advisory Councils are a great way to incorporate the patient in the culture of our hospitals and care centers and help us continue to improve, Mori added.
