Sutter Health Honors Military, Families and Veterans through Operation Care Package
As part of a broader commitment to support military personnel, their families and veterans, Sutter Health partnered with the Red Cross Gold Country Region to donate supplies to military members, at home and abroad. This year marks the second time the not-for-profit health system participated in Operation Care Package. Last Friday, Sutter Health employees delivered three moving-truck-loads of donated supplies to the official Operation Care Package donation site, the Roseville Automall.
In addition, the not-for-profit health system donated 50 cases of baby-related supplies to military families delivering babies while stationed overseas. This “new mother care package” included items such as peri-bottles, breast pads, baby wipes and diaper pins.
Sutter’s Ongoing Commitment to Veterans
Sutter Health makes it a priority to increase military hires each year. It partners with the Employment Development Department to promote jobs for military members seeking employment. Sutter’s military recruitment efforts also include participation in military career fairs and posting to online military job boards.
Sutter Health employs more than 1,300 veterans and reservists.
